Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Program

Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network. One of the largest hospitals in Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network's half-century old graduate medical education program offers a three year categorical allopathic internal medicine program, a categorical osteopathic three year tracking program as well as a separate transitional year residency program.

At Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, you will find a dedicated group of teaching physicians. These doctors, focused on patient care and resident training, are also active in clinical research. Due to its diverse pool and broad clinical resources, including many established subspecialty programs, LVH offers the advantages of both a community hospital and a large medical center.

The residency program at LVH fosters an academic rather than a service-oriented environment. Residents command a flexible rotation schedule with a fair on-call schedule. In addition, LVH has consistently posted excellent pass rates on the boards.

Outside of the hospital, residents enjoy life in the pleasant and affordable environment of the Lehigh Valley. All in all, the Lehigh Valley Hospital's residency program provides superior training in a practical and relaxed location.
